For all those searching for creative ways to enliven their physical awareness, whether young or old, first time students or dancing artists with established skills, Halestone has an opportunity for movement exploration and adventure.

Established as a studio for contemporary dance in 1978, Halestone has served the Rockbridge ommunity for over a quarter of a century as a space dedicated to offering cutting edge dance education while nurturing the originality and artistic development of its students.

A track of study that includes unique performance opportunities with Halestone's company in residence, The Community Dance Connection Theatre, is available for serious students to prepare them for dance at the college level and beyond.

We also welcome the young person or adult who is purely interested in a recreational program of self-enrichment. All students are able to choose their level of instruction from a colorful variety of class offerings featuring everything from yoga and dance conditioning to classical dance technique, creative movement, and choreographic theory.

Halestone's web site features links to the information you need for registering for a season of dance and staying updated about workshops and other special studio events. A brochure is also printed once a year that contains information about daily class and company schedules, dancewear requirements, tuition payment schedules, and dates for holiday closings, concerts and recital performances.
