Studio Dress Code

In order to promote ensemble awareness and facilitate the accurate assessment of alignment and technical performance, Halestone classes have an assigned uniform and dress code for hairstyles and jewelry.  The requirements are as broad as possible while still conforming to an acceptable standard.  At the teacher’s discretion, dancers who are not properly attired will be excused from class participation. Requirements are:

Hair, Jewelry, Jeans - All Classes

  • Hair must be pulled away from the face and off the neck with bangs cut above the   eyebrows or pinned back so that dancers’ vision is not obscured and hair is not slapping the face when performing turns.
  • Jewelry must be removed before class.  Wristwatches, necklaces, large rings on ears or fingers, and bracelets on wrists or ankles might catch on clothing, hair, or other dancers and are potentially dangerous.  Small earrings are fine.
  • Jeans are not allowed in dance class.
