Tuition

From September through May, there are thirty-four scheduled weeks of classes in Halestone’s calendar year.  Tuition for the year of dance classes can be paid:

  • In full, at the time of registration

  • In 2 equal installments, made in August and December

  • In 8 equal installments, made August through March

  • In 10 equal installments, made May through March through March

The length of each class determines the cost of the class. Once you have made your course selections, add together the total number of hours your student is taking per week and see the tuition table below to determine the year’s total tuition.  Multiple class discounts are given to any dancer who takes 2.5 or more hours of class a week. Monthly installment rates are based on the total cost of tuition divided by the number of installments to be made.

2011-2012 Tuition and Fees

Payments

All payments must be paid by check or money order. Cash payments will not be accepted.  If you choose to pay by installment, please remember that installments and other fees are due the first week of the month.  Be sure to clearly print your child’s full name on your checks for identification purposes.

Late Fees

Registrations postmarked after August 6 are charged a $20.00 late fee (as a courtesy to students enrolling for the first time with Halestone Dance Studio, registration late fees do not apply). Tuition installments and costume fees are due by the 7th of each month. Payments received after the 10th of the month will be charged a $10.00 late fee.

Drop and Add

Students who drop or add a class will be charged the full amount for the semester in which the change takes place.  The fee for the first semester (September - December) equals half of a full year's tuition.  The second semester fee (January - May) is equal to three quarters of a year's tuition.

Refunds

Tuition will not be refunded for classes missed due to illness, family trips, etc.  However, students are entitled to an equal number of make-up classes for those missed.  To arrange for a make-up class, please email - mail@halestone.com

Costume Fees and Recital Tickets

Halestone Dance Studio students present 2 performances a year:

  • In early October we stage an outdoor performance at The Theater at Lime Kiln in Lexington, VA. Dancers are required to purchase a Halestone T-Shirt for their costume ($12-$16) and tickets for admission to the show are $10 Adults, $9 Seniors, & $8 Students (dancers are not charged admission).

  • Halestone’s spring recital is held the first weekend in June at The Lenfest Center for the Arts on the campus of Washington & Lee University.  Costume fees for each dance class participating in the annual spring recital are due the first week of April and are based on the actual cost of the costume; prices range from $30-$60 per costume.  Spring recital tickets are $6 (all ages).
