Class Description

Instructor: Stephanie Hodde Building on experiences with creative movement and contemporary theatre technique, this class offers young artists further opportunities to develop their creative mindset and have fun with our collaborative process. Students will continue to build strength and performance confidence as they explore various approaches to movement with contemporary choreographers. They will learn how to brainstorm with embodied and dramatic writing, work together to orchestrate challenging stage patterns, practice theatrical presence, and complement their creative ideas with stage objects and costumes. For Fall and Spring concerts, students will work with guest artists to design performance 'threads' and set objects from recycled / upcycled materials. This year we will envision avatars and backpacks to emplore youthful identity. No previous experience with movement necessary.
